Students interested in global issues are encouraged to apply for a spot in the University of Guelph delegation to the North American Model United Nations (NAMUN) conference running Feb. 24 to 27 at the University of Toronto.

NAMUN is a conference that stimulates the discussion of specific committees of the United Nations.  The purpose is to raise awareness about current global issues and provide a forum to foster vigorous debate among students.

To apply, send a letter of interest explaining your skills and experience relevant to NAMUN, as well as why you would like to participate and what you expect to gain from the attending the event. Also include your program and year of study.

As a delegate, you will be expected to conduct research on the position assigned to you and to develop a position paper on the given topic.

The U of G delegation is open to all students. The total cost of participating is approximately $300, which includes conference fee, hotel and transportation.

Send your letter of interest to mjeziore@uoguelph.ca by Oct. 29. For more information on NAMUN, visit http://namun.org.
