Prof. Jack Trevors, School of Environmental Sciences, has been appointed chair of the environmental microbiology certification committee of the Canadian College of Microbiologists (CCM). He is currently leading a working group to establish the certification requirements and develop the national examination for the CCM environmental microbiology certification.

Trevors recently completed a three-year term as chair of education for CCM. The group certifies professional microbiologists who have demonstrated proficiency, knowledge and experience within their discipline. In addition to professional certification, CCM provides continuing education programs, student awards, distinguished lecture support and laboratory certification programs.
