The Human Rights and Equity Office (HREO) seeks proposals from members of the University of Guelph community for initiatives to promote campus safety for women.

The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities has provided funding to the University to help implement the findings from safety audits, educate and inform the University community about safety and security issues, and support programs that will address the safety and security needs of women students and employees.

HREO especially encourages submissions from or on behalf of the following at risk campus populations: women with disabilities, women shift workers, women in non-traditional studies, lesbians, bisexual women, transgendered women, women of colour, and aboriginal women.

The deadline for applications is Oct. 27; initiatives must be completed by March 31, 2011. For details and an application form, send email to Mahejabeen Ebrahim at hreinfo@hre.uoguelph.ca or visit the HREO website.
