A University of Guelph football player was selected in the 2011 CFL Canadian draft Sunday.

Wide receiver Jedd Gardner was chosen in the fourth round, 28th overall, by the Toronto Argonauts. Gardner finished his fourth year of eligibility with the Gryphons in 2010, and has a  career record of 2,000 yards on 114 passes. This past season he nearly broke an Ontario University Athletics record (1-yard shy) returning a missed field goal for a touchdown 129 yards, against the McMaster Marauders.

The 2011 CFL season gets underway June 30.
