DESCRIPTION:An all-night\, online celebration of the arts! \nIF 2020 is a 24-hour online event featuring 150+ unique\, original performances by international artists of all disciplines. This free\, all-night celebration of the arts will feature improvisational performance videos by musicians\, spoken word poets\, dancers\, theatre practitioners and multi-disciplinary artists from 15+ countries captured in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. \nThe IF Festival is presented by The International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation (IICSI) at the University of Guelph in partnership with Canadian festivals including Hillside Festival (Guelph)\, Suoni Per Il Popolo (Montreal)\, and Coastal Jazz and Blues (Vancouver)\, as well as international presenters including Lasalle College of the Arts (Singapore)\, 17 Institute of Critical Studies (Mexico)\, and Onassis Cultural Centre (Greece). \nThis opportunity to gather online has been made possible through support from numerous community partners\, including the University of Guelph’s COVID-19 Research Development & Catalyst Fund\, U of G’s College of Arts\, and long-time IICSI partner Musagetes.

During this 4-day\, online workshop\, attendees will participate in hands-on activities that will introduce them to or remind them of the key stages of the research data lifecycle. \nTopics covered in this workshop series include: data basics\, data management\, creating and  getting data\, cleaning and preparing data\, data analysis (quantitative\, qualitative and geospatial)\, data visualization and more! \nData Skills Boot Camp is based on our popular longstanding Data Skills Workshop Series that is offered over multiple weeks each semester. We have selected the core workshops from this series and are offering them in a condensed time frame to help researchers kick start their projects ahead of the fall semester.
