DESCRIPTION:The University of Guelph will raise the Métis flag in recognition of the 20th Anniversary of Powley Day on Sept. 19. Powley Day marks the Supreme Court of Canada’s decision to recognize Métis harvesting rights as protected under the Constitution. \nStudents\, staff and faculty are invited to join Métis Knowledge Keeper\, Alicia Hamilton\, as she shares the importance of Powley Day. This session will take place Sept. 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Indigenous Student Centre. \nLearn more about Powley Day on the Métis Nation website.
