DESCRIPTION:Staff\, faculty and students are invited to celebrate the launch of Healthy Workplace Month with the fifth annual U of G Campus Mile! This year\, whether you are joining us on Guelph campus or from further away\, we have something for you. \nOn campus\nMeet us at the Portico to walk\, run or roll one mile. This is a chance for you to engage in physical activity\, connect with colleagues\, take in the sights and sounds around you\, and enhance your mood. After your mile\, stick around to connect with colleagues\, enjoy some refreshments\, snap a photo with Gryph\, and spin the prize wheel. \nThe Campus Mile is also a drop-off location for your Employee Orientation Month Passport! The draw for the three grand prize packages will happen after the mile at around 12:30 p.m. \nIf you are joining us from home\, Ridgetown\, Guelph-Humber or a Research Station: \n\nStart your one mile walk\, run or roll anytime on October 3\nStart your own one mile (1.6 km) walk\, run or roll wherever you’re working from\nSnap a photo or short video on your one mile route to post once you finish your walk. A photo board with everyone’s submissions will be created from the event.\n\nShare a Photo or Video and Comment\nShare the photo or short video you snapped on our custom Campus Mile Kudoboard for your chance to win one of three $25 gift cards! DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to attend the University of Guelph Sustainable Restaurant Project’s 10th annual symposium. This year’s theme is “confronting foodservice industry challenges through research and advocacy”. \nThe symposium will feature presentations by Emily Robinson and Rebecca Gordon of the University of Guelph and Kyla Tuori\, the Corporate Chef of Unilever and the Fair Kitchens Ambassador. \nEmily Robinson and Rebecca Gordon have spent the last two years conducting groundbreaking research on restaurant sustainability issues while completing their MSc. degrees and they look forward to sharing their findings with you. Emily Robinson will speak about how to overcome barriers to implement environmental sustainability initiatives. Rebecca Gordon will give a presentation on how the food service industry can eliminate extreme work conditions to retain restaurant workers. We are also excited to have Kyla Tuori joining us to share how Fair Kitchens is creating change in the industry through advocacy and education of fair employment practices. Fair Kitchens provides free tools\, support and training for foodservice and hospitality professionals to help build positive working environments. \nThis is a free\, virtual live event.
