SUMMARY:Hear\, Here Arboretum - Share Your Stories
DESCRIPTION:Students from the University of Guelph’s History Department (College of Arts) are collecting memories about local history in the Arboretum at Guelph – and you can help by telling your story! \nExperiential Learning Students of HIST 3650 invite local community members to share stories for inclusion in an online digital archive and audio walking tour. Participants will be invited to the Arboretum to partake in a 30–45-minute interview. \nThe goal of the research project is to create an online resource of oral\, local history to create an audio walking tour for visitors to the Arboretum\, and to prepare history students for work in the public sphere. These students will be busy researching specific areas of the Arboretum and are eager to hear your personal stories throughout its 50-year history. Sites of interest include\, but are not limited to: \n\nHarrison House\nGene Banks\nThe Gosling Wildlife Gardens\nThe Italian Garden\nThe Japanese Garden\nThe Reflecting Pool\nThe Wisahkotewinowak Tea Garden\nZavitz Pines\nMemorial Grove\nC. DESCRIPTION:Join us over the lunch hour for the sixth and final session in this wildlife education series! How to handle finding a baby squirrel or chipmunk. Learn how to detect if they need your help. We will go through their natural history (did you know chipmunks don’t nest in trees?)\, what a healthy versus unhealthy baby looks like\, how to tell the difference between baby squirrels and chipmunks\, and how you can help!
