DESCRIPTION:The University of Guelph is celebrating Food Day Canada early by bringing the Guelph community together! Get a taste of local cuisine in our Food Day Canada chef showcase\, shop through our marketplace of U of G food businesses\, listen to live music\, and purchase food from the Gryph n’ Grille food truck’s exclusive Food Day Canada Showcase menu! There will also be many exhibits showcasing food-related research and activities taking place at U of G. \nAll registered participants will receive:\nFREE scoop of Four All ice cream\nFREE samples of local dishes from our chef cookoff \nWe encourage all patrons to bring a picnic blanket and a water bottle to stay hydrated with the Guelph Water Wagon \nAbout Food Day Canada and the University of Guelph:\nFood Day Canada was originally created by Anita Stewart\, the University of Guelph’s former Food Laureate. Food Day Canada is a chance to celebrate Canadian food and the people who produce\, cook and research food. This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Food Day Canada. The University of Guelph\, as Canada’s Food University\, has supported Food Day Canada for many years. This event is organized by the Arrell Food Institute in partnership with the University of Guelph\, the Ontario Agricultural College and the School of Hospitality\, Food and Tourism Management at the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics.

SUMMARY:Dragonflies and Damselflies\, in-person workshop
DESCRIPTION:Ontario is home to over 150 species of Odonata (dragonflies and damselflies)\, many of which are common in the Guelph area. Most species can be identified with a field guide and pair of binoculars. Workshop* participants will learn about these beautiful creatures\, their fascinating lives\, and see why they are an important part of our local ecosystems. \nThis workshop includes an outdoor component of catching and identifying the dragonflies of The Arboretum. \nRegister at: https://arboretum.uoguelph.ca/educationandevents/workshops \nFee: $95 (plus HST) per person if you register by the early bird deadline of July 4\, 2023. After July 4 the fee is $105 plus HST. \n*Maximum 18 adults when held in person.
