SUMMARY:ONLINE: 2022 ICCI Cancer Research Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The 14th annual Cancer Research Symposium\, hosted by the Institute for Comparative Cancer Investigation at the University of Guelph\, is a free all-day event that highlights the cancer research taking place at the University of Guelph and from other institutions. The day consists of poster presentations\, short talks from students and invited local speakers\, guest speakers from many countries\, and a keynote speaker to lead us in an eventful day promising to demonstrate the wide variety and novelty of cancer research taking place at the University of Guelph and around the world. \nWe are very excited to announce our guest speaker lineup for this year\, which will commence with our Keynote Speaker\, Dr. Elizabeth Murchison of the University of Cambridge Transmissible Cancer Group. Dr. Murchison studies the genetics\, evolution and host interactions of clonally transmissible cancers in dogs and Tasmanian devils. Our guest speakers include Dr. Christof Bertram of the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna\, Austria; Dr. Laszlo Radvanyi\, President and Scientific Director of the Ontario Institute of Cancer Research in Toronto; and Dr. Andi Flory\, Chief Medical Officer\, and Lisa McLennan\, Director of Clinical Studies & Biobanking for PetDx\, part of the Center for Novel Therapeutics at the University of California (San Diego). We are also proud to host several of University of Guelph’s outstanding researchers along with an exciting array of student presentations in our short talks. Our poster hall will showcase ongoing cancer-related research from many departments throughout the university\, and will allow attendees to interact with and ask questions of the poster presenters. \nRegister today by visiting the ICCI Cancer Research Symposium webpage\, or contact Deirdre Stuart or Vicky Sabine at tumbank@uoguelph.ca.
