DESCRIPTION:Learn how to “pitch” your research! Share your complex ideas effectively in a concise format and/or practice presenting your research to an audience. To help you prepare\, we are offering an interactive workshop series. \nRegister now to participate in one or both workshops. \n\nWorkshop 1 – Preparing Your Pitch [ONLINE] : February 11\, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.\nLearn about the benefits of 3MT\, how to organize and draft your pitch\, follow the principles of good slide design\, and develop your presentation skills.\n\n\nWorkshop 2 – Presentation Practice and Feedback [HYBRID] : March 11\, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.\nWorkshop your script\, get feedback from experts\, and refine your slide design.\n\nWorkshop facilitators: Dr. Jodie Salter (University of Guelph Library\, Writing Specialist); Jason Dodd (University of Guelph Library\, Science Learning Specialist); and Jessie Kennedy (Manager\, John F. Wood Centre for Business and Student Enterprise). \n3MT is a university-wide competition for graduate students. Participants present their research\, creative activity\, and its wider impact in 3 minutes or less in an engaging\, accessible\, and compelling way using only one slide. It’s a fantastic opportunity to develop your public speaking skills and share your research with a broader audience. \nFor students interested in participating in 3MT competitions\, the 2025 college heats and the university-wide 3MT competition will take place between the end of March and mid-April 2025.
