SUMMARY:ONLINE: Let's Talk Gender Equality - Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Campus inclusion and community have always been a top priority at the University of Guelph. You can do your part to help. \nJoin the U of G community in an honest and engaging discussion around gender equality\, with the bold objective of breaking down barriers and stereotypes. The workshop discussions are open to all U of G students\, staff and faculty. \nThis year’s workshops will be hosted virtually through the Zoom platform. There will be four sessions to choose from: \n\nMonday\, March 1 at 4 p.m.\nTuesday\, March 2 at 11 a.m\nWednesday\, March 3 at 7 p.m.\nThursday\, March 4 at 2 p.m.\n\nEach workshop will be facilitated by students from the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics. \nJoin the March 2 workshop on Zoom. \nThe workshop discussions are part of the HeForShe movement at the University of Guelph. The HeForShe movement is a solidarity campaign for the advancement of gender equality\, initiated by the UN. Its goal is to achieve equality by encouraging all genders to partake as agents of change and take action against negative stereotypes and behaviors. Grounded in the idea that gender inequality is an issue that affects all people—socially\, economically\, and politically—it seeks to actively involve men and boys in a movement that was originally conceived as “a struggle for women by women”. \nThe UN’s HeForShe movement is an invitation for men and people of all genders to stand in solidarity with women to create a bold\, visible and united force for gender equality. Since HeForShe launched in September 2014 at the United Nations\, millions of men around the world\, including heads of state\, CEOs and global luminaries from all walks of life\, have committed to gender equality.
