DESCRIPTION:Canada’s largest high school sporting event comes to U of G! \nThe Upper Grand District School Board and the University of Guelph Department of Athletics Track and Field Program are set to host the 2019 OFSAA Track and Field Championships at U of G. \nThis is Guelph’s first time hosting the annual meet – one of the largest athletic events in the city’s history. A total of 536 schools\, 2600 student-athletes\, 1000 coaches and 2000 spectators are expected to be on campus during the three-day event. \nSee the competition schedule. \n  \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:R is an open source software environment for data manipulation and statistical analysis. Used in a variety of disciplines\, R has become a popular tool because of its power\, flexibility and active community. Join us as we teach the R language fundamentals and basic syntax\, major R data structures and generate basic statistical analysis. \nThis is an introductory workshop intended for students\, faculty and staff with minimal to no knowledge of R. \nPlease bring a laptop for your own use during the workshop. The laptop will need to have the latest versions of R and RStudio installed. \nPlease note: All software installation must be done before the workshop\, please ensure that you followed any account creation or software installation instructions. Out of courtesy to the class we will not be able to troubleshoot software set up during class time.

SUMMARY:Intro to R and RStudio Workshop Part 2
DESCRIPTION:R is a programming language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. This workshop will introduce you to the dplyr package which makes tabular data manipulations easier by using a set of functions to extract and summarize insights from your data. The tidyr package works well with tidyr to quickly convert between different data formats (long v. wide) for graphing and analysis. \nWe highly recommend beginning with Intro to R and RStudio Part 1 as this workshop builds upon the material presented in Part 1. This is not an introductory workshop. \nPlease bring a laptop for your own use during the workshop. The laptop will need to have the latest versions of R and RStudio installed. \nPlease note: All software installation must be done before the workshop\, please ensure that you followed any account creation or software installation instructions.
