DESCRIPTION:For the third consecutive year\, Guelph Hillel will showcase a replica of a German cattle car in Branion Plaza\, similar to the ones used by the Nazis to transport Jews and others to concentration camps during World War II. The cattle car houses an exhibit giving students\, faculty and other members of the campus and Guelph community the opportunity to learn about the atrocities of the Holocaust in a powerful way. \nHolocaust Education Week runs Nov. 6 – 10

DESCRIPTION:Powered By Love is a book that documents the story of African grandmothers creating a social movement focused on empowering women and children who have been impacted by the AIDS pandemic.  The Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmother To Grandmother campaign has raised over $25 million to date that has directly supported these African grandmothers and their organizations working on the frontlines. \nThe book will be for sale at this event. Royalties from the sales will be directed to the Stephen Lewis Foundation to support these organizations and for African grandmothers who are raising children orphaned by AIDS.  Free admission.  Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
