SUMMARY:Prud'homme Beer Certification: Level 1 Beer Enthusiast
DESCRIPTION:This introductory course in beer education is designed for participants interested in developing their beer knowledge. The focus will be on brewing ingredients and processes\, tasting concepts\, pouring and serving concepts (including an introduction to draught systems)\, and food and beer pairings. \nOpen to the public\, this four-week course will take place on Wednesday nights from June 7 to 28. SUMMARY:Biomedical Sciences Seminar: Manipulating the Gut for Heart Health
DESCRIPTION:Dr. John Konhilas of the University of Arizona presents “Manipulating the Gut for Heart Health.” \nHe is an associate professor in the Sarver Molecular Cardiovascular Research Program and the Department of Physiology at the University of Arizona. His current research interests include the roles of sex hormones and menopause on cardiac function\, and the link between the intestinal microbiota\, nutrition and heart disease. His lab also studies exercise physiology\, cardiac myofilaments and muscle mechanics.
