In April 2015, the Aga Khan Foundation Canada launched an innovative, mobile exhibition to stimulate conversation about Canada’s role in reducing global poverty. The exhibition provides interactive learning opportunities based on personal exploration and inquiry, encouraging visitors to think critically about global development and their role as active global citizens. The exhibition will inspire visitors to explore solutions to improving quality of life in the developing world.

The bilingual exhibition is housed in a 53-foot double-expandable vehicle (approximately 1,000 square feet) and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 14 and 15.

The exhibition features:

    • powerful photography, film and audio that transport visitors around the globe;
    • unique objects that provide tangible connections to innovative solutions;
    • a quiz that enables visitors to discover what kind of global citizens they are and how to get involved;
    • an interactive world map that illuminates diverse Canadian contributions to global development; and
    • opportunities for visitors to share their ideas and experience with one another and with their social networks.

Visitors will leave the exhibit not only with a better understanding of global development but also with examples of the ways in which they can build on their own skills and interests to take action. Online resources and school programming will also be available to complement the exhibition experience.

Location: Parking lot P12 by arena
