Dr. John Konhilas of the University of Arizona presents “Manipulating the Gut for Heart Health.”

He is an associate professor in the Sarver Molecular Cardiovascular Research Program and the Department of Physiology at the University of Arizona. His current research interests include the roles of sex hormones and menopause on cardiac function, and the link between the intestinal microbiota, nutrition and heart disease. His lab also studies exercise physiology, cardiac myofilaments and muscle mechanics. His work is supported by funding from the American Heart Association and the National Institutes of Health.
